About us Welcome to Restart Ortho MVZ Berlin – your center for orthopedic and trauma surgery care. The primary goal of our treatment is always to preserve the patient's natural joint. In recent years, groundbreaking advances have been made in this field of medicine, meaning that a large number of joint replacement operations can now be avoided. Despite good, evidence-based alternative treatment methods, joint replacement surgery is still very often performed at an early stage in the treatment of cartilage damage and osteoarthritis. In Germany, more than 400,000 artificial hip and knee joints are implanted every year. This makes us the international leader in this field, unfortunately. Our observations from daily practice show a different picture of what most patients actually want. Frequent statements such as “I don't want an artificial joint yet” or “My orthopedist says there's nothing that can be done” coincide with our basic motive: The natural joint is the best joint and should be preserved for as long as possible. Our medical center therefore takes a different approach. With the help of modern and innovative therapeutic procedures, such as autologous cartilage cell transplantation, more than 20% of joint replacement surgeries can already be avoided today (Long-term cost-effectiveness of matrix-associated chondrocyte implantation in the German healthcare system: a discrete event simulation, Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, 2022) In addition to established surgical treatment methods for joint preservation, there are a number of promising, innovative non-surgical treatment options (e.g., ACS and PRP injections). Scientific evidence and proven effectiveness of the therapy are the most important criteria in our treatment concepts. The benefits of the treatments for our patients are our top priority and guide our decision-making. Our team consists of experienced specialists with extensive expertise in the field of knee and shoulder joint-preserving orthopedic surgery. In addition to fully equipped orthopedic treatment rooms with modern diagnostic equipment (e.g., ultrasound) and therapy devices (shock wave, Axomera, impact centrifuge), our healthcare facility also has an MRI (private, self-pay, BG) and two state-of-the-art orthopedic operating rooms. There is no comparable facility in Berlin and the surrounding area that offers such comprehensive care from a single source.
