Profile

Dr. Arnd Hoburg works in the knee surgery section at MVZ Restart-Ortho.

His goal is to offer patients a therapy concept individually tailored to their needs, based on current scientific standards. In addition to proven methods, modern, novel therapies are used to regain pain-free mobility and enable sporting activity again.

After studying at RWTH Aachen and TU Munich, Dr. Hoburg began his professional career in 2006 at the Center for Musculoskeletal Surgery at Charité Berlin. At Charité Berlin Campus Mitte, Dr. Hoburg was responsible for the area of knee surgery until 2018 and was also the medical director of the polyclinic and radiation protection officer.

Early on, his focus was on reconstructive knee surgery, so that in addition to clinical expertise, scientific topics were also in focus. Dr. Hoburg has written several scientific publications on the topics of meniscus, cruciate ligament and cartilage surgery. Another focus of his work is the analysis and treatment of patellar dislocations (dislocation of the kneecap).

Dr. Hoburg is also known as a knee specialist through his lectures at national and international congresses as well as through instructor activities at surgical courses.

Through his stays abroad, including in Pittsburgh with Prof. Freddie Fu, who is known as the founder of modern cruciate ligament surgery, Dr. Hoburg has always expanded his horizons beyond national borders. He was also able to gain many insights into various systems in New York City and Sydney.

Since 2012, Dr. Hoburg has been a member of the AG Tissue Regeneration of the German Society for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, a panel of experts that deals with regenerative therapies in orthopedics and trauma surgery. He is involved in the creation of the German guidelines for cartilage therapy. Furthermore, Dr. Hoburg is active as a board member in the Society for Cartilage Reconstruction and Joint Preservation (QKG) and holds the QKG cartilage specialist certificate.

Since 2018, he has been working in the field of knee surgery at the Gelenk- und Wirbelsäulen- Zentrum Steglitz, where he expanded the conservative therapies in addition to his surgical focus.

Due to his outstanding activities, he was awarded the seal as a TOP physician on the list of doctors from FOCUS Gesundheit magazine in 2025.
